Integrated and modular software suite

Prodacapo is a fully integrated and modular suite of applications. Each application can work alone or in combination with the other applications. All applications can run on the same database.

Who for?

Prodacapo solutions are mainly for mid-sized or large organizations and multi-national groups. Customers apply Prodacapo solutions on an enterprise scale or as a point solution to address key challenges.

More than 10 years of development

The first version of Prodacapo software was released in 1994. It has been offered as a client/server solution since 1998.

Client/Server solution

The Prodacapo software solutions are open and fully scalable n-client/server solutions. Prodacapo is divided into three tiers: database, application server and clients.

Configuration alternatives

The solutions can be configured as network installations, with clients, network application server and database servers, or as a stand-alone installation configured to run on a single system. Stand-alone installations are mainly used for proof-of-concept and pilot projects.

Web-enabled and web-based

The products are partly web-enabled or fully web-based.

Server based computing

Prodacapo can operate over Windows Terminal Server or Citrix.

Integration with existing IT systems

Data for Prodacapo solutions can easily be sourced, manually or automatically, from your existing IT systems, databases or OLAP tools. These systems can also be updated with data from Prodacapo. This can be done using the Prodacapo integration tool, Prodacapo Connect, which comes with the Prodacapo solutions. This is an ETL-tool (extract-transform-load) that handles large transaction volumes very efficiently. The techniques used for import and export of data can be: ODBC, OLE DB, Oracle Net, flat file data exchange etc. Prodacapo Connect also includes easy-to-use functionality for importing and exporting data from/to Excel.

High-speed calculations

High-speed calculation is of concern mainly for users of Activity-Based Costing that has very large data volumes or complex organizations and who wants to make analyses down to individual transactional level. Prodacapo is designed as a high-data-volume system and has probably the fastest calculation speed of all ABC software solutions in the world. We have customers with ABC models containing over 100 000 customers and 100 000 products and corresponding very large data volumes.

Security

Prodacapo includes a User Manager module where read-only or read/write access is assigned to user groups. Named users are allocated to the groups.

New versions

Prodacapo releases one major new version every year, as well as one or two smaller updates.

Future technology road map

The development road map is to continue to make more functionality web-based and portal- enabled, and to continue to successively move to the .NET technology for the web-enabled and web-based parts of the software suite.
