Time Driven ABC is a methodology that makes it much easier to handle activity based costing than the traditional way of building models. Prodacapo supports the TDABC methodology and many of our clients are using TDABC.
Prodacapo 9.5 includes additional support for TDABC including new functionalities and a new graphical interface for an easier handling of your ABC/M models.
For more administrative areas (sales, etc.) we recommend using the more traditional way of activity based costing. Prodacapo enables you to combine these two methodologies.
What is time driven ABC and what are the benefits of using it?
TDABC provides an accurate strategic cost and profitability model that is fast, inexpensive and easy to build. Using TDABC simplifies the update and maintenance of your ABC/M model as changes occur. The time spent on each activity is used as a base for the resource tracing and cost driver data.
A time driven model is driven by the activity volume, which means you only need to update the organization cost and cost driver data in order to maintain the model. For more information, please contact us.

Updated Data Mart enables faster and more in-depth analysis
Prodacapo 9.5 includes an updated version of Prodacapo Reporting Data Mart, which means faster ad-hoc queries/reports.
What is a Data mart and what are the benefits of using it?
A data mart enables you to perform more in-depth analysis, such as benchmarking specific data in between periods and performing a multi-dimenstional analysis. For example you might want to find out the profitability of a specific combination, consisting of a unique product group sold to a specific client segment via a specific sales channel (web shop) during three specific periods.
A data mart is a specific, subject oriented, repository of data designed to answer specific questions for a specific set of users. An organization could have multiple data marts serving the needs of marketing, sales, operations, collections, etc.
The team of users sees only the data it needs, in a form that matches its collective understanding of the business. A narrow subject area doesn’t necessarily mean small in size. Data marts may contain millions of records and require gigabytes of storage.
A data mart usually is organized as one dimensional model as a star-schema (OLAP cube) made of a fact table and multiple dimension tables.
Data Marts Advantages
The implementation of data marts enable users to gain faster access to common data utilizing a technique called dimensional data modeling, which optimizes data for reports.
For example, since data is prepared in common format, users with little or no training at all, can browse a data mart and obtain information as needed. Data marts can improve end user response time, as it contains raw data which allows computer systems to focus on a single task, thus, improving performance.
As opposed to OLTP systems, data marts can also store historical data which enable users to analyze data trends. Support for Prodacapo Portal framework via Prodacapo Dashboard
Prodacapo Dashboard can now be viewed and accessed from portal frameworks. Dashboards can be configured for external access. This makes it possible to present Prodacapo data in Microsoft SharePoint or other portal frameworks and enables easy access from the portal framework to the Prodacapo web interface.
Any Prodacapo Dashboard can be setup to allow external access, and any dashboard module can be added to the dashboard.
