Prodacapo software now implemented at six Scania group production plants
Six of Scania's production plants have now implemented the Prodacapo software solution for product calculation.
The Scania group is the world's fourth-largest manufacturer of trucks and buses for the heavy transport sector, and it is one of the most profitable companies in its field.
“We can now make accurate product calculations more swiftly to support the management of business operations,” says Tomas Dacke, Chief Controller, driveline production, Scania AB.
The Prodacapo software solution for product calculation is based on the ABC method, which means that costs are distributed to products and components via resources/activities and cost drivers. This method is highly appropriate for engineering industries and allows them to make more accurate product calculations.
The Prodacapo software solution has been implemented in co-operation with VM Data at Scania (now called Scania Infomate) and integrated with Oracle Financials and the Scania ERP system developed in-house. Cost information is updated every month.
“We are very happy with the Prodacapo consultants and the support services that Prodacapo provides,” says Tomas Dacke.
