Vopak, the world's largest tank operator, selects Prodacapos solutions for profitability management and business planning
The Dutch company Vopak is implementing the Prodacapo software solutions for ABC/M (activity based costing / management) and Business Planning. The solutions will provide Vopak's business managers, initially in the Asian Region, with better information for increasing profitability.
Vopak is the world's largest tank terminal operator. The company stores and handles chemicals and oil for customers at 72 terminals in 29 countries. In 2004, Vopak had 3400 employees and achieved net sales of EUR 642.1 million.
“The Prodacapo ABC/M software will provide us with more accurate information about the profitability per customer then traditional financial reporting and existing systems”, says Wim Samlal, Director Finance, Vopak Asia. “Using the software we can also analyze why a customer is profitable or not. This will allow us to take the right actions together with the customer to create a win-win situation for both of us.”
“In addition, the Prodacapo Business Planning solution will enable us to simulate and analyze the financial impacts (costs and profits) of a range of actions and scenarios”, says Wim Samlal.
Vopak chose Prodacapo after conducting a thorough selection and evaluation process. “We chose the Prodacapo ABC/M and Business Planning software as they are straightforward, easy to use systems, with extensive suites of predefined reports and analysis. Prodacapo also scored highest when we compared the price /quality ratio,” says Wim Samlal, Director Finance, Vopak Asia.
The contract with Vopak has been signed by Prodacapo's distributor in the Netherlands, CPM Solutions.
